Tom Cox
Tom Cox is a former IT Marketing Executive with extensive experience in small business management in the information technology environment. Tom attended engineering school where his class was among the first to be taught computer programming as part of the curriculum. Tom fell in love with programming and landed a job as a COBOL programmer after having worked in a variety of small companies to pay for his education.
During the 80's and 90's Tom worked for an early software startup that sold end user tools that ran on IBM mainframe computers. Tom was able to leverage his background in small business experience with his technical knowledge to help guide the company through rapid growth and then the transition from mainframe software to personal computer software and later to internet based software. He learned the basics of marketing by trial and error and returned to school to earn an MBA in International Business.
Tom transitioned to consultiing in order to spend more time with his family, Tom began to use his experience to help small businesses in technical fields. His experience in Information Technology and small business management gave him a unique perspective. For technical owners without a lot of business experience Tom was able to understand the technology and help owners improve the business side of their companies. For business management-oriented owners, Tom was able to help them to leverage technology to increase the success of their business.
Tom was called upon to help a family friend who owns a Managed Services company and needed some marketing help. He had operated for many years solely on referrals and he was learning that competition was heating up. He needed to implement some real marketing functions into his business but he wasn't sure where to start or what to do. Tom realized there is big need here and as a result, Remediane was launched.
